My mom knows I love to read so she often gives me books as gifts. This past Mother's Day she gave me My Dear Sisters by President Gordon B. Hinckley. It is a sweet inspirational book full of beautiful art and uplifting quotes for women from President Hinckley. I reread it recently and his following words really make me want to be better:
"You have the potential to become anything to which you set your mind. You have a mind and a body and a spirit. With these three working together; you can walk the high road that leads to achievement and happiness. But this will require effort and sacrifice and faith."

I'm not sure what I want to be???

I do know that I have a long ways to go to reach my potential and I want to stop wasting time in mediocrity and get on that high road that leads to achievement and happiness.

Now, to muster up the faith and make the effort and sacrifice required....

Ditto! I guess I better start getting off my backside and mustering faith if I'm ever going to climb above the mediocrity I seem to cling to in my life. :)

Thanks for the quote. It is awesome!

Holly, you WAY underestimate yourself. You have EIGHT children for heaven's sake. That's not mediocrity. You'll have MUCH more time and energy 15 years from now. I know that sounds like and eternity from now but it's not really. I know for sure. Time passes much faster than you think.

A suggestion.... Choose a small thing you'd like to do, be, become. Once you have that, choose another small thing and so on. Small things add up to alot over 15years.
